Shaded Sanctuary
This thick, old growth stretch of the wood is much darker than the surrounding forest. Towering oaks and thick-trunked deciduous trees form a dense and shadowing canopy. The forest floor is lush and quiet, cast in a blanket of shade even during the brightest day. Squirrels are especially abundant here as well as several species of deer who frequent the area to graze and rest beneath the trees.
