First Quarter Climate - Mid Summer Y0

Jul 24, 2025 ❯ Rodents of various types have begun to increase in numbers across the greater region. Emboldened by the cooler temperatures and virulent conditions, they are now active in every biome and at all hours. Their presence begins with scattered sightings and quickly builds into rolling waves of motion; scouring tall grass, squeaking and chittering through the night, nesting in long-abandoned dens, and even raiding food and herb caches.

What was once a plentiful snack has become a plague of vermin.

Some wolves may rejoice at the feast; others will be annoyed by the sheer numbers. Many may see this as a bad omen; vermin are rarely welcome in abundance. Rodent activity is visibly and audibly increased across the region. Week 2 and 3 of Mid Summer will mark the peak, before tapering off as the season ends. Hunting wolves may risk exposure to a variety of rodent-borne illnesses... or they may not. It is a time of easy food, if one is discerning enough.

Jul 18, 2025 ❯ While our Discord includes a live changelog of updates as they happen, there hasn’t been an on-site equivalent until now. To help fill that gap, I’ve compiled a summary of everything I’ve worked on over the past week as a general update here.

Jul 8, 2025 A big small update to the map page and packs
Troupes can now set out camps. Please only do so if your group is actually intending to settle there and form a pack. They should not defend the camp like a territory. They can let strangers know they intend to claim it, though,
Packs can now set territory fully dynamically on the packs page,
The # of squares you can claim is hard-coded and it will give you live feedback on how many you have claimed and what you have available,
Troupes can set camp up on 1-2 squares,
Packs can have 3-12 squares depending on size with 5 members claiming 3 squares to start,
Squares from other packs can overlap or border your troupe camp or pack territory. This is to allow for natural, organic conflict or alliances,
Troupes are indicated by outlines in their primary color,
Packs are indicated by filled in squares in their primary color,

The wiki for claiming territories will be updated to reflect this soon
And yes - this will automatically update on the map, and troupe camps should automatically show on boards where they've assigned camps, just like packs.
And yes, feel free to temporarily give your pack squares if you just wanna see how it works. Please ensure squares match the claimed territory or they may be cleared out.

Summer

The sun reigns. Days are long and sweltering, punctuated by sudden storms and distant thunder. Shade becomes refuge; the air tastes of heat and dust.
