At that time you'll be able to start making in-character posts. Please give us time to get settled before you judge our activity. There's a lot to offer and a lot to get into. And, to start us off, we're beginning with an event! Summer erupts as a blistering heatwave consumes the region, baking the land beneath in relentless sun. Wavering heat vapors distort the horizon, and may distort vision, and each step stirs up dust from the parched soil. Shade is fleeting, as is relief and water.

Nearly all wolves have fled these conditions to come to Nocturne - the problem is that they have to pass the Cradle of Ash or Ember Reach. A desperate stretch of land that can prove most challenging.

Dry winds whip through the sand and stone and what little water once lingered in the hollows and ravines has long since dried up. Cracks split and carve the ground where even spindly weeds struggle to hold on.

The scent of prey is thin, and most animals have moved deeper inland, seeking cooler refuge. Some desert birds, rodents, and insects are enough to get by.

Dehydration and heat exhaustion are the biggest threat. Wolves may be smart to travel at night to save strength and reserve water. There has to be hope somewhere, right?

Some Tips

If your character is new to the valley, they should be entering through one of our arid biomes such as Ember Reach or Cradle of Ash.

During the duration of summer, you are able to make native-born characters. That is to say - characters who were born in Nocturne and already know about it's areas. This is only available during summer of Y0.

Additionally, during summer you can create characters with breed-only mutation. In the future, breed-only mutations will be limited to keep these mutations rare. You can read about these mutations on our Character Creation guide.

While the event and weather are both optional we strongly encourage you to get in there and enjoy the nitty gritty experience.
