Rodent Boom : The undergrowth stirs with restless rustling; mice and rats are everywhere. Perhaps a blessing... perhaps a curse.
Is Nocturne Right For You?
Nocturne provides an environment that is meant to be welcoming to the user, but can be brutal for the character. Our website, features, and rules can be complex. Don't let this deter you - we've done our best to make things intuitive and with some adaptation you may settle in quickly. Let's consider what makes you a good fit:

  • Anything can happen to your character, good or bad, and this excites you as a writer. You enjoy in-character interactions whether they are fluff or drama.
  • You have a passion and excitement for character development and enjoy watching the progress of character growth and relationships over time. You like the idea of things happening as organically as possible. You enjoy the idea of minimal OOC plotting and want to contribute to such an environment.
  • You enjoy writing characters that are realistic, well-rounded, that have desires, goals, passions and needs that may differ from your own.
  • You find enjoyment in characters that other writers play and can appreciate the stories and content they build alongside you. You find joy in interacting with others through their characters and in proper development which may not always involve romance. You like to actively write with the community as a whole rather than a few people.
  • You're capable of a level of maturity that allows you to communicate with others, even in uncomfortable or tense situations, and are able to approach things tactfully and in a respectful way. You are open to communication and willing to problem-solve if any issues arise. You understand that we don't tolerate drama - you should be able to talk out issues without stirring the pot.

  • This means we're especially interested in members who:
  • Express a level of originality in characters - no copyright characters from popular media, and no characters who are exactly the same as characters you've created before.
  • Use proper grammar and punctuation and write in a past-tense third-person perspective.
  • Fit in well with the community and its goals, and enjoy the setting.
  • Create characters who are complex in the way that they have both positive traits and flaws.
